Yep - contained in the Privacy Act. Obligation to collect personal information for proper purpose, appropriate storage and use of the information related to the purpose for which it was collected.
On first blush our PERSONAL information was collected for the purpose of the company being able to fulfill its obligations under the rules of the ASX and to be able to contact us if they need to in relation to our investment.
A 3rd party having that information and using it for another purpose is very problematic.
When I got the call before the person identified themselves as being 'from ESG'a third party is a different kettle of fish.
Additionally, JP Morgan have to be established by ESG to be using the information appropriately and storing / protecting it under the act.
