Jackpot, the situation in Malaysia and LYC is a political one.
The plant was ok to go long time ago, no real issues with radiation, until Fukishima and local politician and pressure groups sought to make milage with people's ignorance.
No matter how safe the plant is, someone will come up with more reasons for it not to go ahead. The AELB and Malasian government have to have the balls to take on these local groups and think for the good of the whole country.
If there are genuine concerns about the safety of the plant, they should be addressed, but I don't think there are any in this case.
The politicains are looking at their main game, re-election.
All else is incidental.
