Pharma is always going to have it over phood.... but -as I understand it - one if the hugest benefits of hemp is that it is ridiculously easy to produce - cheap to grow and hardy.
Many ‘new’ local food products have their day in the sun from avocados to viirgin olive oil to chia then if there is merit they stick around.
Hemp is a fantastic plant protein source and the byproduct uses in hardy fabrics and cardboard etc means it’s basicalky a no wastage crop . The fact that it is cheap to produce will - in my opinion - mean that it is going to be around for a very long time - long after it’s ‘fad’ days are over
