1. While mining companies could perhaps do with a bit more in terms of overall tax take, the justifications are just preposterous. Why waste the tax take on changes to super policy? It should be saved for a rainy day, like they did in Norway and their oil reserves.
1. It creates assymetric risk profile to potential projects, meaning seriously risky projects which need potential high returns to achieve payback will be significantly hit.
Seriously stupid policy. Rudd, Swan and Bowen have never run business and will never understand business.
