it wasn't so long ago that gold miners did not pay tax. haven't we moved on fast !
the difference between right and left, in a nutshell, is :
the right assist businesses to prosper which in turn creates jobs,
whereas ...
the left assist workers to prosper which in turn curtails businesses and thus jobs.
now, fwiw, here in spain and greece with the economic crisis 'and believe me it is hell out there', business is rapidly going underground. no receipts changing hands and therefore no gvt collecting it's share of taxes. now this brings me to the billions that the italian mafia make each yr and therefore is not going into the italian tax coffers.
please please don't google italian mafia profits cos it will alarm you. you may not sleep tonight or tomorrow night but you'll wish maybe you were a paid up member of such a lucrative club !
