mining is a very risky enterprise...australia is full of dusty holes that swallowed up huge sums of investor capital...speculative miners have little chance of funding from banks...way too risky for their blood
if RSPT becomes law, ALL mining companies in australia will have buckley's chance of getting the $$$$ to fund their prospects
imagine a speculative miner's prospectus stating "even if we hit it big, the govt will take lions share of profits"...how many investors would be interested?
this tax could only be devised by someone with no practical knowledge of the mining game...like the majority of academics, henry is full of theory and devoid of commonsense
that rudd adopted his idea speaks volumes about his leadership abilities
