@havingfun; I owe my life to the injection of heparin by ED doctors. At the time I was advised my chances of surviving that pulmonary embolism for the next few hours was roughly 50% since the main blood clot was straddling the major artery into my lungs and they already had numerous smaller clots. The risk of the clot splintering and a stroke was also regarded as very high.
I'm not a medico and in no position to recommend heparin to anyone else. But amidst all the misinformation and challenges we face in responding to Covid I found that article exciting reading.
According to that article Australian hospitals are also becoming involved in the trials. It's my hope that it delivers for those infected with Covid what it did for me!
