gerry i dont have a url etc as this was a tv programme some 6 odd months ago

but i can say the aust govt had some prominent scientists look into hep c , it backed up the article you posted from the u.s
saying that in aust hep c would outstrip aids by a substantial margin , the scientists really freaked when they did the stats and asked the govt to take action now , re advertisements etc etc scare campaign
at present diagnostics for hep E A C , all take time like most blood tests . go to the dr get a referal go get blood taken , then off to the lab for a week or so etc then back to the dr for results
slt diagnostic are same day fast and furious with a very high %% rate .
i may be fantasising now . but when i was a kid overseas the govt made check ups at schools etc inoculations etc . if as the aust scientists say hep c is outstripping aids as the u.s report states also . then surely at some time in the future the govt would take action and maybe run a programme of population check ups for hep c etc ??
slt cheap and quick diagnostic to the rescue who knows ???


i am not saying this will happen though merely talking out loud and theorising

also maybe just maybe the recent outbreak of hep E in africa , could have been avoided if a random population sample was taken ?????
