Thailand is mainly genotype 3 . The trial was for genotype 1a only . 1 is the hardest to cure . 1a is harder than 1b to cure .
Variant CC is easier to treat than variant TT in genotype 1a .
The rates of variant CC/TT were not released but are you saying that the Asians with genotype 1a were probably CC variant ?
They still attempted the hardest genotype to cure .
No-one has bettered 87% SVR yet for gt1 even the new SOC and if these 7 responders get to SVR then surely there will be some further proof there . Remember only one months dosing .
63% vs 87% improvement on the SOC is remarkable as the drug has shown to work after it has stopped being ingested .
Merck , J and J , Roche , Gilead all have money and polymerase drugs in later trials .
I wonder where we are headed .
