The pipeline is interesting.
It is cheaper to build than a railway, doesn't have the scheduling and operating issues of a rail system and it takes the water to the Melbourne market.
The permitting process (and esp the EA process) will be where the environmental movement seeks to exert pressure, especially with the 1999 Federal Biodiversity Act which requires carbon effects to be taken into account.
The intermediate output of the exergen process is a slurry, so it is simple for them to put their product into the pipe.
