I wonder what that % would have been if measures, even minor, hadn't been put in place?
Herd immunity is another conundrum I'm trying understand. Swine flu, foot&mouth, tasmanian devils, species extinctions, etc don't seem to have benefitted from herd contagion... orr have they? Even locking the family children in a room with the kid with chicken pox and/or mumps didn't eradicate them.
And If we didn't have antibiotics we'd probably be keeping the islands as leprosy communities, no natural herd immunity to that one as I understand it and spread by snot, cough and sniffle..
