    My position is this:

    If I am an investor (part-owner) of a company, and some event occurs that MAY impact the value of my ownership, then the Board has a responsibility to keep (at least) me informed. (maybe not the whole investing community in general).

    After all, that is why I signed up to receive email updates of investor related news.
