To quantify the project’s earnings potential for NWE,
we will assume a successful initial drilling program, with
20 wells producing at the conservative end of
expectations at an average of 0.3m cubic feet a day per
well. Assuming ongoing net gas prices after royalties etc
of ~US$6/mcf, we anticipate NWE’s 37.5% stake of
annual production to be worth ~US$4.9m (A$6.3m).
This translates into annual EPS of ~A3.8c. Lifting our
assumptions to the 100-well scenario, annual attributable
earnings jump to US$24.5m (A$31.4m), or ~A18.7c.
