as such we really doin't know how well these things will function in practice. much will have to do with the system management hardware and software too.

there are many needs in grid stabilisation and we don't know what range of tech will be used as yet as more is being developed. the grid will need different energy producing technology to ensure stability and estimates show that the nation will need at least 3 x the energy production we currently have by 2035. no single form of energy production or storage will do for the whole system or be wasted.

all you've really said in this post is that you haven't read up much on SMRs. imo you need to open up your thinking acorn.

Renewables are getting the job done today. Still getting cheaper and more efficient. Today.

What would you suggest ? We'll spend the next 10 years building a renewable energy grid and then replace it with imaginary SMRs ? Spend all that money time and effort only to chuck it away ?

Grid stabilization ? Do you mean the very successful grid stabilization we are achieving right now with large batteries and grid forming inverters ?

Grid forming inverters are in the field now and working much better than expected. Proving better than syncons .Hence the rollout is accelerating.

Don't want to talk about the safe embedded renewable network that already exists in communities ?
Don't want to talk about the rapidly growing resource of energy storage via evs ?
Don't want to talk about the security issues associated with toxic SMRs spread all over the countryside ?
Don't want to talk about the drug money cost of SMRs during a cost of living crisis ?

l've done plenty of research on SMRs. That's why l think they are a dumb idea when compared to the much superior alternative .

Best you do some research on grid forming inverters and grid forming batteries. The ones that are real and operating today.

You've backed the wrong horse, old son. l'd get rid of that nag as fast as l could if l were you .
