Ni prices have fallen over the last 6 months after Indonesia decided to resume to allow selling of illegally mined Ni. this resulted in the market being flooded.
Alcoa in WA has a massive draw on the grid in NSW Qld as well WA. NSW has decided, after a decade of whingeing about energy costs, to build their own gas plant, via AGL. if Alcoa WA is closing it has reasons other than WA Energy to close
that "Gas Crisis" report is likely to be 2 years old.
imo this is a confected load of bovine excreta.
