what about all of the aircraft qantas has retired over the last 5 years and not replaced ? what about all of the capital diverted from the hugely profitable domestic operation that is still operating dinosaur 767 and 737 aircraft, some over 20 years old ?

the carrier that 'must' grow is not qantas. qantas having virtually no foreign destinations in the worlds factory, ie asia, is no ones fault except the ones at the top. not the pilots, not the cabin crew, not the engineers, not the ramp staff, they can only do what theyre told.

qantas will be pulling out of frankfurt, new york and hong kong within the next year. the sydney-tokyo route will more then likely go, qantas is threatening to pull out of australia to south africa just today in the news.

the crapola being spewed from the corporate sympathetic medium called news ltd is in overdrive in the last few days in regards to qantas, priming public opinion because average joe is a moron and believes what he's told to believe. when the bad news comes on the 16th joe moron public will nod in acceptance because 'it has to be done'

the only way qantas will grow is without this current management and board, qantas will continue shrinking until its a domestic only operation, jetstar is being built up with massive capital and new aircraft, don't be suprised the day qantas is 'unsustainable' and jetstar is sold off to some familiar faces. thats my prediction.
