Although it's not uber relevant to your post, I would also like to correct some *speculation* around delivery times and schedule slippage. I work for a Big 4 Oil and Gas company, senior level engineer. Our projects have been getting slammed for 18 months because of supply chain disruptions. As an example, we needed a simple electronics card for network PCD security. A standard telecoms off the shelf item. It slipped our delivery by over 9 months because of chip shortages. This is why costs increase as a whole.
We have multiple projects with many, many disciplines that use a whole suite of globally procured components. A schedule slippage of 3 months or 6 months is an absolute norm unless you need it to de-bottleneck your project urgently and are willing to pay 300-500% premiums because the cost of delay outweighs the budget.
So, in a company with zero fundamentals you may worry about schedule slippages. In the global supply chain environment currently, it's a fact of life.
