The Chinese must have enough evidence. They are not Tunbull type of persons. They won't proceed this far without concrete evidence. (particular, if the rumour that the PRC president ordered to investigate this case, then he must be presented with some decent information already.)
But don't panic. Chinalco is the RIO's biggest share holder. There is no reason at all that China will let RIO out of China market.
Ask RIO to pay a hugh fine, and ultimately get a better Iron Ore price.
They might want to revenge. Well, it is quite reasonable. If we fell frustration about the detention of Hu. The Chinese must feel deep frustration about the dead Chinalco deal.
