    I tend to agree with @attitudes that it is a marketing ploy to say, there is only a limited amount at your local store, so you better line up before the store opens to get your wand on the 21st!

    Much like Apple and Samsung releasing their phones, they are limited for the first few days or weeks, as it drives FOMO and creates more desire to buy the product knowing it's limited.
