Must be nice to have money-I go to Bali and shop over there-I think BBG think way too much of themselves and have priced all their clothes made for 2 bucks in china at 3000% markup-BBG have forgotten they are a surf shop-I walk past their shops and don't even bother-I am not getting ripped off for a shirt or boardies when I can buy the Balibong version for 3 bucks. I can fly to Indo, score some filthy waves and get enough clothes to last me a year and still get home with more money than if I went and did a shop at the local surf shop. Hardly any of the stores have boards anymore and as a 45 year old surfer who has been around long enough to know the value of things I refuse to be ripped off for a brand name. The difference between a surfer and a tryhard-surfers don't need to look like surfers - we are surfers.
The reason BBG is getting caned is because of cheap competition and overpriced goods. Oh yeah and funding a whole pile of pros, cameramen and lackeys to travel to all corners of the globe and score waves.
They aren't even a surfshop anymore they are a clothes shop. When they have a 100% markup on wetsuits it doesn't help their cause either. I can buy a comparative wetty from West for 150 bucks less. If you want to pay an extra 150 to wear a brand name good onya. But I don't and neither do hundreds of other surfers in Oz. "You want to differ yourself from people who can't afford them"-spoken like a true mal or stand up paddle boarder you kook
