Eight councils have been picked to be part of the 500. This from Barnaby Joyce:"The list of organisations that will pay the carbon tax direct shows that 8 are local councils, which means that the carbon tax won’t just hit your electricity bills it will hit your local rates as well. (The Councils include: Brisbane City Council, the City of Armadale, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Council of the City of Shellharbour, Gladstone Regional Council, Maranoa Regional Council, Wagga Wagga City Council and Western Downs Regional Council.)"
How crazy is that?
