What I don't get is, if the 'experts' know that gold-in-calcrete samplings is significantly influenced by sampling depth why did the program drill down from surface to 3 metres to obtain samples??? WTF!
Based on the graph in the announcement quoting Lintern (97) just before reaching 1.5 metres there is f**k all gold compared to 0-1.5m, so if the sample selected was mixed with 1.5 metres of dirt (from 1.5 to 3 metres) the sample will be massively skewed toward dirt and the PPB they encountered would be small bits from 0 to 1 metre that actually made it into the sample.....
from the JORC sampling techniques section of the latest announcement:
Calcrete samples were obtained from varying depths ranging from surface to 3m. Samples were sieved and only good quality calcrete (nodular or massive) was taken for geochemical analysis. Samples obtained were ~1kg in weight.
what a waste of time.
