No the lab is not off the hook yet, still a chance that contamination occurred there. Still multiple explanations for the lack of repeatability from the 2 programs but will hard to isolate it. Re sampling the best way including taking a number of samples from each hole at different depths wherever the "calcrete" occurs. Plus plenty of duplicate samples, blanks and standards.
