3 Momentum Continues With Strong Customer &
Mobile Broadband Growth

Sydney, 19 May 2008: 3’s continued strong sales momentum and take up of its non-voice services was today confirmed with the release of new customer and mobile broadband subscriptions figures at the Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Limited (ASX:HTA) Annual General Meeting.
At the end of April 2008, 3 had grown its base to 1.723 million customers from 1.578 million at 31 December 2007 – a 9% increase in four months.
Mobile Broadband subscriptions (which includes accessing the internet through a data card, a USB modem or a handset) had grown strongly, increasing 48% to 288,000 subscribers at the end of April 2008 from 195,000 at 31 December 2007.
“Our business is growing well as the competition for 3G customers has intensified in 2008,” said Nigel Dews, Chief Executive Officer, Hutchison Telecoms.
“With our 7.2 Mbps network upgrade underway and a continued focus on providing great value and service we expect this growth to continue. Our leadership in 3G means we are well placed to benefit from the accelerating migration of customers from 2G to 3G. We remain focused on achieving our financial goals and exiting 2008 EBIT positive,” said Mr Dews.
