Surely it can't be a surprise to you that an industry body has submitted a proposal to increase and solidify sourcing of revenue for their own constituents? That's their job. They do it all the time, regardless of who is in Government. For example Innes Willox is always asking for lower wages. It doesn't matter who's in charge because he doesn't get paid based on their propensity to listen, he gets paid to push the industry's agenda. I doubt you'll find much support, though, for the hypothesis that Labor is all about lower wages.
