This is a veritable pandoras box.
I dont think that the rallies were more than a public expression of fear and abhorence as to the consequences of war. On the radio this am an old fellow was saying how he lost 2 nephews in Vitnam. He then raised the topic of agent orange & napalm, chemical WMD, shadows from the past.
But I also dont think that this reflects badly on John Howard, he would be voted back in tomorrow. The $A just got rerated AAA from Moodies, lost after Keatings gratuitous banana republic comments. People usually vote on economic issues.
