    A simple radio or TV warning to move to high ground would have saved tens of thousands at least.

    Now the US is moving two carrier squadrons in.

    But when the State Department had the chance, they kept quiet.

    After all, why spend billions on chemical and biological weapons research if you're gonna save the third world from a natural disaster?
