I think the current moves are based entirely on Phosphate . MAK is a acquisitive cashed up company and BHP has said it is also looking to make phosphate acquisitions . The gold no doubt is more than just insurance to the marcap, but the locale of the phosphate makes it undervalued to it's neighbours and an easy resource upgrade .
