You can't napalm the place, you will destroy a civilisation.
So, as your post says ... "The other point is that the farmers need to have incentives to grow other crops or herds in its place that will still give them a decent living and a better incentive. There must be a better solution than that"
I agree, mark.
But what is the solution? Is it a hard global option or a soft local political option?
Too many airy-fairy solutions have been put forward over too many years by people who meet in cafes and chat over lattes.
I'm not a conservative.
Changing the demand side has been the solution for over 40 years, since we came back from the Viet war. It doesn't work.
I'm running out of energy on the topic and need others to contribute.
