heroin use increasing in australia, page-8

The heading says heroin use increasing in Australia.

This is partly due to "unintended consequences" of strict anti-drug policies. Workers at almost every major industrial site, including all mines, are subject to strict alco/drug testing the likes of which few politicians would like to be subjected.

"Grass", the popular and "relatively" harmless party drug stays in the system for weeks and even s/hand smoke can be a problem, so is out of favour with cashed up miners in town between shifts. Even poppy seeds on your roll can show you as a "user" but "H", being pure and injected is unlikely to be detected.

The irony of "unintended consequences" makes for good reading.
