I visited H B recently. Seems like Hervey Bay's biggest claim to fame is that it is becoming the dementia capital of Australia. Everywhere in Hervey Bay, there are elderly people who appear to have lost some of their mental abilities. It is probably because of a big ongoing expansion in the number of retirement and lifestyle villages. Retirees seem to like the climate, apart from the occasional cyclone.
