In the context of the objectives for reducing CO2 emissions in simultaneous phasing out of nuclear energy, natural gas is a good option to fill the gap. Only, if it is possible in the German energy mix increasingly to use natural gas, it will be possible, to achieve the climate protection goals.
Micro CHP, among which also the fuel cells, convert natural gas into electricity and heat. This is done locally and in the optimal application of produced electricity and heat the same spot you can use. To avoid transmission losses, power grids discharges, and lowered CO2 emissions. For the consumer this is compared with other measures, such as for example the facade insulation often the cheapest solution to CO2 savings.
Gas-Union opts for this modern natural gas application technology for years, and supported its partners, the public utilities, at the launch. In doing so we offer through our technical advice service such as E.g. seminars for contract plumbing services the public utilities and support in the planning and selection of appropriate projects. In the case of the current funding project for fuel cells, we have a special offer for the Hessian energy suppliers. Should the Hessian energy suppliers offer their customers a subsidy for the maintenance cost of the fuel cell, so we will take of the lead content up to a maximum amount of EUR 2,000. The offer is valid for systems that are installed in Hesse and for which the application for funding is provided until the 31.12.2014.
Natural gas is the pillar of the energy revolution. Natural gas consists primarily of methane. Methane can be produced synthetically through the so-called power to gas process from excess electricity or renewable through biological processes. The power to gas process takes gas to the memory function for electrical energy. The natural gas industry is the largest energy storage for Germany with their infrastructure. So that this potential can be used, we need affordable and reliable natural gas application techniques. Gas-Union will help with establishing these new application techniques. This is one of our active contributions to the energy revolution in Germany and the motivation for the extraordinary strong commitment by gas-Union.
