The HEWI model is not such a breakaway concept. It is just an HDR system operating in sediments (i.e an HDR system operating at lower temperatures).
The capital costs saved by drilling shallower wells will be more than negated by the need to drill far more wells than usual to scale up to full capacity.
It would be interesting to know how actively PTR are pursuing their other, more interesting projects. The effiencies that could be achieved in their international projects are worth more focus than they receive.
