When I predicted $11 or $12 by Christmas, it wasn't wild speculation or wishful thinking. It was simply a matter of making a very calculated guess based on existing facts and forecasts. One of the most important points to consider is that forecast demand for rare earths has ALREADY had to be revised upwards and the timeline for this demand has been brought forward. Combine this with the FACT that Lynas is a first mover, cashed up and on the cusp of increasing capacity at a time of high prices which are expected to remain high. And the kicker, Lynas Kalgoorlie approval all but signed off, rendering the Malaysian licensing question moot. In addition, potential US govt support, Malaysian PDF approval (which was also imminent at the time), positive drill report and expectation of an excellent quarter despite challenges. I thought it not unreasonable for serious and smart investors to want in early. And that, as we know can trigger a share price run beyond the tips of most people's noses. So, for me, $11 or $12 was not at all out of the question and quite achievable. And here we are, only a few trading days after Christmas.
