I'd disagree on both points.
$50k loss is small for a HC investor/trader in a single stock? To be down $50k you'd need about a quarter mill in. Certainly not chump change imo.
Also, an unrealisted loss is still pretty relevant, that's capital that could be working elsewhere even in a long term portfolio. Just imo, each to their own ;-)
