People are pretty much alike - but not equal; that is a nonsense. Most practising Moslems would be peaceful and law abiding. Unfortunately, it only takes one in authority for the ugliness to come out. That one knows about leading the sheeples. (This happens in all communities however).

In the cultural spiritual educational social religious sphere, the guiding principle has to be freedom (that doesn't mean equality - we are not all spiritually equal as we are all travelling the road at different stages in each successive life; equality equates to the legal rights sphere, where we must all be governed by the rule of law equally).

We tend to mix this up a bit.

What is dangerous however is when one religion tries to PUSH there world view on others and doesn't leave the others free. There are fundamentalist Christians, but it is the fundamentalist Moslems that are really dangerous, as they have shown us over and over again. It is this trying to push Islam on others - that danger, that people in the west are reacting to. And so they should.

Hicks represents this element in that he fought for an Islamic group. He deserves to be stopped, but he still has his fundamental legal rights to be treated equally; in my view. Lets not throw out the rule of law.
