Volcanic's are not consistent with flow rates. Gaining a full understanding on the flow rate variation patterns is very difficult ..... this is due to a lack of consistency in the decay.

However the only thing that matters is how much recoverable oil is actually in the ground (reserves). If the reserve number/s went backward or didn't increase then the shareholder "worry beads" would certainly get some use.

Of course this is not the case ... so none of this is an issue.

With the oil price well off the previous bottom, its probably very prudent for CVN to punch down wells into the known reserve. Doing so just to pick up the production rate and make hay while the sun shines.

The less important wildcat exploration wells can now be left for a far more rainy days.
