Unions royal commissioner Dyson Heydon has postponed his decision on a recusal application following a request from the ACTU.
The decision is now expected to be delivered next Monday after being scheduled for Friday morning.
The ACTU had written to the royal commission asking it to delay Mr Heydon's decision on his future as it sought access to new documents.
ACTU secretary Dave Oliver wants a copy of emails referred to in The Australian newspaper, showing there was correspondence between the NSW Bar Association and counsel-assisting Jeremy Stoljar ahead of Mr Heydon's decision to announce he wouldn't be speaking at a Liberal Party event.

Had he been intending to disqualify himself he wouldn't have bothered adjourning - there's no point.
This is just a blatant stalling tactic by the ACTU. This morning's story adds nothing. It's displaying contempt for the Royal Commission.
If you try to shoot the Sheriff, you better make sure you don't miss.
