I watched the program and I didn't see anywhere that Hick's lawyer stated that Hicks wanted the gag order.
After Kerry O'Brien asked the question twice about Mori's opinion of the gag order, Mori just said something like, " Oh well, it will give him time to decompress, and you know, David wants to finish his education" or something like that. That's how I recall it.
I think I might have detected a sarcastic grin on Mori's face as well.
Not sure what to make of that. The transcript might be on the ABC site.......
