    God knows, there have been enough wars...and enough systems put in place to 'adequately' deal with prisoners of war etc....the Geneva Convention et al! Australians have fought overseas in quite a number...where they would have been 'enemy combatants' if taken prisoner....and there has been an expectation that prisoners would be treated in accepted ways.

    Terrorists/'The War on Terror' are being treated differently.....with an increase in gov powers to
    arrest/hold persons indefinitely without explanations etc etc...erosion of one of the basic principles of civilisied countries. Why is that??

    In all wars there has been inflitrations and dastardly deeds perpretrated by the enemy on home soil...so it cannot be just that they may strike on home soil.

    BTW....'terror' is an emotion....how can there be a war on an emotion?
