In early December 2001, he was sitting in a taxi stand in Baglan, Afghanistan, hoping to get out of the country. But his short stature, fair skin and blue eyes gave him away and members of the Northern Alliance captured him and handed him over to the their USA allies for a reported US$1000 bounty. Hicks was on his way out of Afghanistan, but not in the way he had hoped"

    I haven't finished the book yet but so far it's a balanced account of what went on it's not yet making any judgement calls.
