Seasonal occupancy issues are always there in early childhood. The problem here is though, that staff ratio's have not been adjusted accordingly. This occurs when some centres are run like 'BFF clubs' with no leadership and little regard to addressing the developmental needs of a business.
There are many many centres in all corporates, totally over staffed. Early childhood teachers should be teaching children and business managers should be managing businesses.
The government legislation dictates the ratio's and the required qualifications of staff. Centres have to adhere to those regulations, this creates the problem of hiring staff because of qualification, not because of quality. Therein lies the problem.
