AS PIF investors,we were probably one of the first to suffer from this financial tsunami when our distributions were suspended in January 2008. Things then looked very bleak and they still do. I certainly recall at the time questioning my financial judgement in investing with MFS. I was with them for about 4 years after accepting advice from my financial planner.
Nobody really knows how all this will pan out. We have put a lot of faith in JH and I suppose it is now a salvage operation to retrieve as much as we can from this situation.
I also believe that if we hadn't invested with MFS, and had put the money at the time in other investment vehicles,stock market,property etc. our investments would still have diminished. Every investment vehicle has been effected, so no matter where we put our money, it would have been a loss situation.
