You are completely right. But I have been on plenty of sites where individuals that speak of 'cores' and RC drillings as just 'samples', or some people say 'cores' more, whether its dirt, mud or whatever is pulled up. Which would I understand somewhat as they bounce between exploration methods a lot on different sites or even on the one site. i guess due to the cost of RC being significantly cheaper, or cores giving the ability to visually inspect the rock formation. I've spoken with plenty of rock nerds over the years and its quite interesting how they can tell soo much about the structure under the ground by looking at some mud or a core lol
