would have been nice to have heard it via the company first. However happy to see Mike want to grow the company. Hopefully an exciting next 6 months with no low ball TO offers for us in the mean time!

Australian iron ore producer BC Iron Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Business Development Manager, Peter Powell, with immediate effect. Mr Powell most recently spent 4 years as BD Manager at Barrick Gold Corporation’s Australia Pacific regional office. This role entailed managing both company and asset / project acquisitions, joint ventures and farm-ins within the region. Mr Powell is based in the Perth office and a member of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Finance Director, Morgan Ball.

Commenting on the appointment of Mr Powell as BD Manager at BC Iron, Mike Young Managing Director said, "We are delighted to welcome Peter into this newly created position which reflects our desire to continue to grow the Company. When we first discovered Direct Shipping Ore at the Outcamp deposit in May 2007, BC Iron stated that it would focus on bringing Nullagine into production and then use the cash flows to develop new business opportunities. We have since delivered on the first promise of iron ore production and we are now embarking on the second promise of using our cash flows to grow the Company’s revenues.

We believe that the combined effect of an experienced BD Manager and our group’s iron ore experience will allow us to rapidly review and assess these new opportunities.” Mr Powell commenced his career as an Exploration Geologist in the Pilbara before spending 12 years as a Mine Geologist. He has a BSc in Geology and Physical Geography from the University of Canterbury and an MSc in Mineral Economics from the West Australia School of Mines.
