Australian diversified minerals exploration company Mawson West (ASX: MWE)
(“Mawson West” or “the company”) is currently drilling at the Katanga and Safari North
copper prospects within the Kapulo Joint venture area with Anvil Mining.
The high-grade Kapulo copper deposits are located 130km north-east of Anvil Mining’s
operating high-grade copper/silver Dikulushi mine. MWE is the operator and will have
earned 65% of the project by August 2008.
    Drilling Update – Kapulo Project
    Katanga
Drilling has continued to return exceptional results at this prospect with 31 holes
completed to date (Figure 1). Latest intercepts are detailed in the table below and can be
seen in Figures 2 to 4. Copper grades up to 42.6% over one metre (within a zone of
[email protected]% Cu) have been returned from hole 023, which contained massive chalcopyrite
and bornite mineralisation similar to several holes yet to be assayed. Hole 023 was
terminated in mineralisation due to adverse drilling conditions; hole 023W is a wedge off
the parent hole which did penetrate the entire mineralised envelope. Results from the
wedge (twin) hole compare very favourably with the parent hole.

    RELEASE
Mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth. Results for seven completed
holes are still outstanding, and two holes are currently being drilled.
Both diamond rigs are currently drilling at the Katanga prospect to speed up drill
information which is to be used in the maiden JORC/43-101 resource due in August
2008. Once enough drilling information is available for this interim resource one of the
drill rigs will return to Safari North. The maiden JORC/43-101 resource will only include
    material from the Katanga prospect.
