The dump is in a gully so roughly speaking it is an oblique pyramid...
Using your measurements, 1/3 x base x height = 1/3 x 60 x 20 x 4 = 1,600 cubic metres x 1.8 = 2,880t
Don't forget that the smelter and transport companies take a chunk of the value of the contained metals.
4% copper = let's say $400 per tonne of contained metal value.
Transport to a smelter will cost you $100 per tonne.
Smelting and refining costs are around $100 per tonne for copper concentrate + a few percent of the metal.
Are there any nasties in the ore? Arsenic, cadmium, mercury etc. If not the ore could perhaps go to a blender where the clean low grade ore might be used to dilute a dirty high grade concentrate. Still wherever it might go it costs and if it has nasties, it might not get off site.
There is arsenic in the dump samples taken by CRA, six samples averaging about 0.5% As.
