The Asmara Project has produced 2 very significant drill intersections at the Adi
Nefas Gossan area situated approximately 7km north of the city of Asmara and
40km north of the high grade Debarwa copper - gold deposit in Eritrea (Figure 1).
Adi Nefas Gossan NG-003RD intersected 8.5 metres @ 3.94g/t gold, 1.50% copper & 22.81% zinc
NG-005-RD intersected 11.0 metres @ 9.14g/t gold, 4.63% copper & 1.36% zinc
Including 7.0 metres @ 13.19g/t gold, 6.34% copper & 0.48% zinc
These results come from 2 of 6 holes drilled during August 2004. The results of
the remaining 4 drill holes are awaited.
The Adi Nefas Gossan area is one of a number of volcanogenic massive-sulfide
(VMS) occurrences within the Asmara Project which was drilled by previous
operators who described the occurrence to be a typical VMS deposit striking over
about a 700 metre length with strong zinc and gold mineralization but relatively
low copper values. However, none of this work targeted the potential high-grade
copper supergene zone.
