    Vic Liberals lose ground: Poll

THE state Liberal Party continues to lose ground to the ALP in Victoria, according to the latest Morgan Poll.

Primary support for the Bracks Labor government was unchanged at 48 per cent while primary support for the Liberal Party fell 1.5 per cent to 32 per cent.
If a state election had been held in February, the ALP would have won easily, according to the Morgan Poll.

On a two-party preferred basis, ALP support rose 1.5 per cent to 60.5 per cent – a lead of 21 per cent over the Liberal-National Party coalition on 39.5 per cent.

Amongst the minor parties, primary support for the Greens remained unchanged on 7.5 per cent, Family First was up half a per cent to 2.5 per cent and support for the Australian Democrats was unchanged on 2.5 per cent.

"The Victorian Opposition continues to lose ground to the ALP, down 1.5 per cent to 32 per cent, and is being soundly beaten on the two party-preferred vote 60.5 per cent to 39.5 per cent," Gary Morgan said.

"The Bracks Government would win a state election easily if an election were held now," he said.
The poll of 975 voters was conducted by Roy Morgan Qualitative Research on the weekend of February 18-19, 2006.

I get no pleasure in this Towie but it does show how much work has to be done to get an alternative up!
