high level resources at hill end

There is a 50m deep zone just beneath the depth of historic workings where the quartz vein sets widen out and may be suitable for bulk mining. There are at least seven vein sets in this zone and most, perhaps all of them exhibit this widening characteristic. I have looked at the data for just one of these orebodies, the Frenchmans Veinset. Historically mined over a 400m strike length, its width varies from 4m to 7m and grade over the full width is up to 28gpt. Historic grades were much higher but the ore would have been hand sorted so I have used a lower figure of 20gpt in my calculations.

I calculate that the mineralised envelope for this one vein set contains 300,000t in the unmined wide zone. If the whole zone averages 20gpt, there is about 190k oz in this one veinset. Some of the other veinsets are unmined at historic levels so it is possible they contain even more bulk minable ore.
